The site is run by Brighton Grove Allotment Association. More than 60 members have plots varying in size from 100 to 450 square yards, on this green oasis in the City.
The society has more women gardeners than most, and encourages the participation of children, family and friends. The committee (elected each year at an AGM) works hard to maintain and improve site facilities, and offer good service to members, which includes the Annual Show every September, organised coach trips in summer, and a Christmas Party.
The society Trading Hut, built by members, offers gardening products at discount prices, and is open most Sunday mornings. The best plots are entered each year in the City's Allotments Competition, and numerous Certificates and Trophies have been awarded. The installation of electric power to the society hut is anticipated soon.
BGAA is an affiliated member society of AMAS, NSALG and HDRA.
